Ties to beauty, High Rock Lake, located in central North Carolina, has a rich history tied to the region’s industrial growth, natural beauty, and outdoor recreation.
High Rock Lake, the 2nd largest lake in North Carolina, spans nearly 15,000 acres in Davidson and Rowan counties.

The lake gets its name from the nearby High Rock Mountain, the highest peak in the Uwharrie Mountain range. The Uwharries, considered some of the oldest mountains in North America, are rich with history. The “High Rock” itself refers to the rugged and towering nature of the mountain. High Rock Lake has evolved into a symbol of natural beauty and outdoor adventure in the heart of North Carolina.
